Lisi's transformative - but breathtakingly achievable - platform showcases her deep and hard-earned understanding of why prosecutions so often fall short of our shared values. She is an utterly fresh and fearless thinker about what justice could look like in Denver. I’m inspired by her run and proud to support her.

Lisi, above all else, will be a consistent leader that builds predictable trust with her people, whether that be her staff or the community she serves. As a neighbor of Denver's, my community in Edgewater is largely impacted by its application of the justice system and how it endows true equity. I fully support Lisi for Denver DA.

    Lauren Hughes

Director, Adams State University Prison Education Program

I first became acquainted with Lisi through a friend who is currently incarcerated in the CDOC. Lisi was instrumental in helping him implement programs that have since been adopted by the CDOC and have been of great benefit to other incarcerated individuals. As criminal justice continues to evolve, it is essential that we have a candidate who is receptive to reforms that promote accountability, reduce mass incarceration, and tackle the root causes of crime. Lisi Owen is that candidate. Her track record demonstrates that she is uniquely qualified to guide us forward in Denver. Lisi possesses a keen ability to identify and address systemic issues within the criminal justice system. She is open-minded when it comes to adopting cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches to criminal justice, such as restorative justice. Lisi is committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, are treated fairly and justly. I am convinced that Lisi's passion, expertise, and dedication make her the ideal candidate for Denver District Attorney.

    Edward Butler

Legal Officer, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado (Retired)

Having recently retired after 24 years working for the federal courts, the last 15 as the U.S. District Court's Legal Officer, I can confirm that Lisi Owen was one of the few attorneys who repeatedly represented clients at the request of the court in federal civil rights cases, and on a pro bono basis. Not only did she always act as a zealous advocate - particularly to the incarcerated whose cases other lawyers wouldn't accept - she also single-handedly proposed meaningful reforms to the court's rules of practice, including limited scope representation -- which opened the door to increased access to justice at the federal trial court. Lisi also provided leadership and training to other lawyers who wanted to participate in the court's growing pro bono program, including managing training seminars and crafting the court's first pro bono "how-to" guide. Lisi is an inspiring lawyer and I enthusiastically endorse her to be the next Denver District Attorney!

    Michelle R Halligan

Major, Colorado Department of Corrections (Retired)

I developed a professional relationship with Lisi Owen while I was employed as a Major with the Colorado Department of Corrections. During each of our interactions, I found Lisi to be fair, ethical, respectful, and knowledgeable as we worked together to come to resolution regarding concerns she was bringing forward. Over the past several months, I have had the opportunity to engage with Lisi on a more personal level through a criminal justice-based book group. I find Lisi to be well versed in the US criminal justice system and was quite impressed with her desire to study the criminal justice system in other countries, even living abroad for a year in Norway to further this study. Lisi has always expressed an interest in learning the stories and experiences of those affected by the criminal justice system, on all sides. Her continued interest in making positive changes to the system -- decreasing mass incarceration, ensuring fair and just charging practices, eliminating coercive plea bargaining -- are what is needed today in a progressive Denver County.

    Anna Holland Edwards

    Civil Rights Attorney

Lisi has dedicated her career to fighting for the rights of the people of Colorado. The District Attorney should be a voice of the people, both for victims and for rights of accused to be fairly arrested, prosecuted, and tried. Lisi will bring to bear years of institutional knowledge about corruptions in our system, unfair practices that undermine faith in arrests and prosecutions combined with an international view on the best practices on criminal law and preventing recidivism.

  • Meranda Vieyra

    Owner, Denver Legal Marketing LLC

I’ve had the privilege of watching Lisi grow as a lawyer since we worked together at Reilly Pozner LLP, when Lisi was fresh out of law school and building a non-profit at the same time she held a full-time job. Over all the years, Lisi has never lost sight of her core values. She is tenacious and brilliant, but most of all, leads from the heart in everything she does. I support Lisi for Denver District Attorney because I am sure that she will always do what is right for people, even when it means she has to stand up to powerful interests to do it.
